Can Turkish Coffee Be Made with Single-Origin Beans?
A method, not a country of origin
The term Turkish coffee describes coffee prepared in a cezve with an ultra-fine grind and served unfiltered. Beans from Ethiopia, Colombia, Brazil or elsewhere can theoretically be used.
However, every origin does not perform equally under the same roast and recipe.
What does single origin change?
A single origin can make regional character more visible. Ethiopia may feel floral and fruity, Brazil chocolate-led and nutty, and Colombia more balanced.
The dense body and fine grind of Turkish coffee may hide delicate aromas, so roast and preparation require care.
Grinding and cooking
The grind must be finer than espresso. Uneven particles can create harsh sediment and irregular extraction.
Controlled low heat and managing foam and temperature rather than simply waiting for overflow can reduce burnt flavours.
Separate general education from the current menu
The fact that a method can use different beans does not mean a café currently uses each of those beans for Turkish coffee. Any business claim must follow the actual menu and recipe.

Who may enjoy it?
Guests curious about regional aroma in a traditional method may enjoy single-origin experiments. Those seeking a familiar classic profile may prefer a balanced blend.
The important point is not that single origin is automatically superior, but that the bean is prepared appropriately for the method.
